Oooh, this is a good one. We’re taking a brief break from my lovely families, just a quick one. I haaaave to share Julia’s session with you before we are too far into fall. Technically, this isn’t a senior session. We did Julia’s senior photos about a year ago, before she started her senior year (blogged here). Over the last year, I’ve come to rely on Julia a little to keep me from being TOO out of touch/getting too old. She, by some miracle humors me, and with a smile on her face. Leaving for college in August, we decided to sneak in one more session before she left.
Julia is a girl after my own creative heart. I was looking to experiment with posing and composition. Sunset, a pretty dress, fun jewelry, and a willing model gave me some freedom to do this. I was looking to force myself away from my usual routine, and this was the perfect time to do it. Julia is someone I trust to deliver on the model side, which meant I could take my time as we went along, without worrying about her becoming disinterested or bored quickly. Plus, she is totally ok with crawling into fields and lakes, and is unfazed by bugs. 🙂
I found the dress (The Dress – such a saga, but so worth it), and the rest fell into place fairly easily. She patiently let me try some new things and drag her around town. The light at the first location wasn’t ideal – yet. We went back there an hour later and it was magical. What can I say, I’m picky about my light. 🙂 I like to think it paid off though.
This is a long one, so sit tight. Julia, THANK YOU. A million times. You’re the best.
